Another theory is it all started in the back seat of a '57 Chevy one evening when the windows were all steamed up.

Bravo Steve!!! I have gotten to where I do not trust "science" anymore unless the scientist is politically Independent!!!

What's interesting is that we might produce life in a test tube before we find it on another planet. Either way would have a similar effect and change a lot things.
