There are tens of thousands of snow geese that winter about an hour north of Seattle and I have been following them for 30+ years. They have been an entirely white population until the last 4 or so years when few blue morphs have appeared. First there was one and then this year one birder counted 17 in the huge flock. Now when I go up there I seek out the blue ones to photograph. I found this one yesterday and it was kind enough to isolate itself from the mass of white ones and give me some clear images.

Welcome to global warming where the snow may not be on the ground on Wrangell Island

Isolation is always a challenge. Nice calling pose captured, Bob.

Always cool to pick out these blue morphs. Like you said nice isolation from the flock, and i also like the interesting calling pose.
Thanks for looking,

Nice detail with this close up shot....With the tail almost touching the border I think this image is much better shown horizontally.

It is pretty much what I do also, photographing the Blue Morphs only. I like this very muchas it is difficult, here anyway, to isolate them for a clear shot. Well done, Bob!

As a matter of fact I have some photos of one taken last spring at Klamath. I posted it here but here it is again for you.
