Photo taken at Laguna Seca Ranch in South Texas.
Nikon D810, 300mm f/2.8 lens, 1.4 TC, 1/1600 sec at f/9, ISO 640 Pyrrhuloxias are year-round residents to South Texas. They live primarily in a thorny brush habitat. You can always distinguish a Pyrrhuloxia from a Cardinal because a Pyrrhuloxia has a curved beak and a Cardinal has a straight beak. |
