Hunted a vole from about 1/10 mile away but flew back to original tree to eat.

nothing special
ISO 250 400mm 1/1600 f/9

had been sitting with the SNOW for awhile so was relatively close - was relieved when he decided to return to the same tree to eat
some winters they seem especially skittish, other winters not so much
I was lucky

Snowy Owls are hard to expose in the sky or snow. This is a good job. The head turn and vole in talons make it special.
