Redpolls have been visiting our backyard the last several days
Nikon d800 ,300mm , f13, 250/sec iso200 fill flash used

Ken, I really like this photo, Curious, was the 300mm lens an f/4 or an f/2.8?

I used a Nikon 300 f2.8 VRI that I just calibrated and was using it for the first time

a great setup with an elaborate perch, I wonder if you can add more moss to connect the two lumps at the top end of the perch for a more natural look, great BG and fill flash as well.

A lot to like here Ken. The perch is interesting and the bird struck a nice pose. It looks perhaps that there was a bit too much flash used. I could see a bump in contrast as well.
