To watch a pair of adult common loons with 2 loon chicks is not so common.
Especially on this particular lake.My quests and I have seen chicks taken by hawks, gulls, mink and other loons. These two survived an attack by an otter while we watched. One of the adults managed to lure it away.

Really beautiful light Michael, and nice job getting good poses and DOF for both birds.
