Another from Esquimalt Lagoon. Still one of the prettiest duck species for me.

Pretty especially in flight, showing all the nice colors and patterns. Excellent flight shot, Tim.

Thanks KK. It was taken at 10:41 AM, but here in the winter the sun is low all day long (when we see it) :)

Outstanding image, Tim! One of the best flight shots I've seen of this species, common or not!

Of all your in flight images of this species, this is my favorite...great top side view, sharp everywhere, ideal light, love the background...it just doesn't get any better.
Cheers from the Canadian west coast,

I would normally say "one of the best" but in this case it IS the best mallard flight shot I have ever seen Tim. Amazing!

A really nice close up IF shot of this good looking drake mallard. You caught the iridescence in the head and the speculum perfect and the detail looks great.
Your duck images are killer Tim. Very impressed.

Beautiful shot Tim! One of the most common ducks, but certainly one of the prettiest as you say. This really shows the gorgeous plumage colours.
