I've spent some time the past week searching for these birds after sunset with great luck. A wooded area just two minutes from home in central MA seems to have quite a few of them, including this beautiful brown morph which I found on Monday. My encounters are usually very brief as they seem to disperse into other areas to hunt for the night.
1D4, 300 f/2.8L IS, 2x TC III, 1/250 @ f/11, ISO 400, 430EX II in manual, removed a mess of branches above the birds head. Thanks for looking, and Happy Thanksgiving! |
