Sandhill Crane

Canon 7D II, 100-400mm + 1.4, ISO 400, 1/640 @ f/8, @450mm HH

Taken a few weeks ago in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.  Many cranes landed in this field to feed on their migration south.  These crimson-capped giants certainly are mesmerizing to watch.

The raised foot adds interest and I like the eye-level perspective view too, Emil!

Not sure why no has commented on this image? I think it is great all the way around. Lovely setting and nice leg raise pose.
