In evening light against a deeply-shadowed lakeshore background. I don't think I'll ever tire of photographing this species - absolutely one of the most elegant birds in the world. Looking forward to more fun with them next spring!

Jess, I like the artistic impression here, but for my tastes it is just too dark.
