Muddy legs! Head tilt is a nice touch though I might prefer a slightly lower angle. That's personal preference though.....

Yes environmental shots can be muddy. So would I have been if I laid or knelt in the same stuff.  I would have needed help getting up as I am told that  a double knee replacement candidate! I did what I could while it moved around fast and I had that second or two  when it was on a tiny bank. I also felt that even if I could have gone lower I would have lost some of the shadow effect I enjoyed. Thanks for noticing and remarking about the important head tilt.

Such appealing and sweet faced birds and you have illustrated that beautifully with head on one side and lovely bright eye. Superb detail and the shadow adds a nice touch Mike!

Thanks Carol. I never realised how 'sweet-faced' they were until I processed these images.
