Burrowing Owl with Jerusalem Cricket.

This is one of my local owls. We named him Chip for the chip missing out of his beak. One morning a friend and I were shooting some static shots of Chip when he suddenly flew a few yards away and flew back with this big scary looking insect.
I called them potatoe bugs when I was a kid but I think Jerusalem Cricket is the proper name. A pretty ugly insect but it made for a feast for Chip.

What a wonderful image David!  Chip is just full of character - (not to mention bugs) and his look says 'its mine!'
