Alan Murphy and I set a phototrap in front of a man made nest box that the ranch owner installed under Alan's direction. It's since been updated and other boxes added and we can't wait to get back in February to get some more shots.

This was the best I could get out of only a couple of nights -  I missed getting any good ones with prey!

1DX, 16-35mm, 2 flashes, 1/200 @ f13, iso 400

beautiful, elegant pose, and not an easy species. Such a cool shot! Perfect as-is. I'd love to try for one like this some day and allow the ambient light of the sky bleed in over a long exposure or use a second flash to light up some foliage in the background someday . . . if time were no object - lol.
