Part of a flock of Rio Grande turkeys coming in to roost in the treeline at the right just before the sun went down. There were a total of about 200 mostly toms in this field and the one on the other side of the treeline. About 70 can be seen in this image.

I've never seen the turkeys at Bosque.....maybe I'll catch them this year. How's Bosque shaping up for this November? Any crops?

Thanks, all, for your comments!

I talked to someone at the refuge and they tell me that the refuge crops are 85% better than last year. The weather has had a certain effect, since it's been raining more than most years all over the state, but everything is looking pretty good right now.

It must be quite an impressive sight to get such a large flock all together like this Joe!

Joe, a grand Turkeyscape, great the way the big group aligned where the strips of sunlight are hitting, nice golden terrain/foliage colors.

Thanks, Joe.   For the first time, I have the time to spend 2 weeks out there...Nov/Dec and am so looking forward to it.  Glad to hear that the crops and the rain are better this year.
