Same pheasant as I posted Tuesday, different pose.

All C&C welcome.

Great pose Joe. This pheasant looks a lot different than what I am used to. It is much darker and has minimal evidence of a white ring on its neck. Could this be a released bird? It is a common practice in areas that are hunted and often those birds act a bit "stupid" when you come across them. Minor nit - the image looks a bit over saturated, especially in the green foliage.

These pheasants are not pure Ring-necked pheasants, but are a cross between Ring-necked and Afghan White-winged pheasants, therefore no clean neck ring. Note, also, the white wings, as compared to Ring-necked pheasants. Believe me, these pheasants don't act "a bit stupid" at all. It is extremely difficult to get good shots of them! They run for cover quickly, unless it's breeding season and you are lucky enough to come across them near the road.

Looks a wee bit oversaturated, but a nice setting and bird

Wow, Nice alert pose here. The head turn is just ideal. Perfect light condition with no shadows.

This brings back many memories Joe, as I grew up surrounded by hundreds of these handsome birds in various colour variations. Nicely done!
