It is good to get a background to the image.

When images are shown in this forum we prefer to get all the shooting parameters which provide information to all concerned. This is particularly relevant here as you have gone for a particular style. To me all the image of the eagle should be sharp and in focus. You also mention the short wings but we don't see them.

I do like to see alternate viewpoints and you are going in that direction.

Certainly a different composition! I like the idea, but, for me, if you are going for a facial close up, then the eye needs to be sharp. It looks like the focus is on the cere.
