Wow Lynn, this is great. As already noted this image is technically terrific.
For me it is the determined but delicate face while holding the dead prey that makes for such a captivating image.

I am so jealous of this gorgous image Lynn. I have been trying for years to get a shot like this. I had an opportunity this year but the nest wasn't in a great location and when the young fledged they were gone in a day and didn't return to the nest site again. Drove three times to SD and got skunked. Thats wildlife photography for ya. This one looks great and I love the nice eye contact and the clutched foot with the vole in it.
Killer light, details and BG too. Very nice!!
