 Bluethroat Nome, Alaska
Canon 7DM2 | Canon 500mm f/4 IS II | Canon 1.4x Teleconverter III | 1/400th | f/8 | ISO 500 Here's one from this spring's trip to Nome. Glenn and I put a fair bit of effort into photographing Bluethroats as they're definitely one of the highlight species found in the area. These skulky birds inhabit dense swaths of willow in valley bottoms, making them somewhat tricky to find. It wasn't until males performed their spectacular, song-filled display flights that we were able to locate a territory. I really enjoyed spending time with these guys! Thanks for taking a look! |
