I waited on a highway on-ramp for 2 hrs. for this eagle to land in it's nest tree.  With the morning sun 30 degrees off to my right  behind me I had good lighting altho I probably c/h been a stop or two less exposure for the white head.

Welcome to Naturescapes Bird forum

Nice flight shot. You have also given a correct diagnosis and appropriate cure to improve the image

Cheers

The browns are really nice, and it's a majestic pose. Truly admire your effort and objectivity.

Good persistence. I learned on here a while back to always dial in about .7 or a stop underexposure when shooting bald eagles.
