It was low tide as we walked onto the beach at a coastal inlet at 6:30am as the sun worked it's magic on this lone plover. I quickly attached my camera to my ground pod and my shooting pal gently guided this obliging shorebird towards me as a lay flat on the wet sand,

I was sorry that I had used my TC1.7 as it was too much lens, next time I will no better.

Beautiful light on this pretty girl and lovely low angle Rob. I like her forward approach and implied movement with the dainty raised foot, with the bright eye the icing on the cake! You have already noted the reduced space at the bottom but that's a very minor point IMO.

It was well worth lying flat on the wet sand. This gives an intimate portrayal of the female Wilson's Plover. It looks like she's coming straight toward us. Nice.

Robert

This is all about the low angle and the light....the foot up also helps to add some implied action. Sometimes it is fun to lie in wet sand
I don't mind the bottom crop close to the bird.

Cheers

Great image of this tiny girl Robert. The POV and sharp details are outstanding. Raised foot is a bonus :)
