Burrowing Owlet

This young fellow was  on the lookout for pursuing hawks that frequented his patch, if one flew overhead, in a second the owlet would retreat to the safety of the burrow.

Nikon D7200, Nikkor 300 2.8 VR II.

Priceless moment captured Rob!  This really is a fine behaviour illustration with the owlet on constant alert to danger.  

I love the pose and expression, almost as if its seeking divine intervention.......reminiscent of a LFC supporter...... :wink:
