The end of a day, and not a good one.
This young cuckoo never had the chance to start its journey to Africa.
Sad to see how many animals are killed on our roads every day.

A sad but very common story. I rode my bicycle around the entire country birdwatching last year, and the number and variety of dead birds I saw on America's roads was just staggering. No group safe: sparrows, gull, herons, warblers, shorebirds, owls, hawks, thrushes etc. While I did not keep an official list of the dead birds I saw (I did keep a list of the 600+ live species I observed), I would estimate that I saw 150 different species dead on the road. So sad.....

Sadly so many creatures, both fur and feather, are killed this way.

A different approach but one that makes viewers think and as indicated it highlights a major problem for bird and mammal mortality.

You did a pretty  good  job of portraying what happens when the two worlds collide. I would wish to see more images like this taken and out there because they have more impact than just words. Not many people watch the sides of the road much for animals that might run out, or fly into their on coming cars. And many of us just plain don't slow down enough. But for most people unfortunately, they just don't care.
