Eating crow - barred owl

I was attracted to this owl by the sound of mobbing crows. When I got there another person had just witnessed it catching one of the crows. I have never seen a crow captured by a raptor so this was a first for me. I watched it eat nearly the whole thing.

Canon 7D2, 500mm f4L IS II, ISO 640, f 5.6, 1/125 sec, manual exposure, tripod

Great image Bob! I guess this shows why this species has expanded and adapted so well. Unfortunately it is at the expense of many other species. The Barred Owl, since it moved into the Victoria area, has all but wiped out our Western Screech Owls.
