I am positing this image to show you the type of behavior at the time of landing. The adult came back with a gecko. The nictitating membrane (from Latin nictare, to blink) is drawn across the eye for protection during landing.

Alan,

I see that you use the photo trigger, is it highly recommended?  I am interesting in getting one for another type of image that I want to create.

Troy

This is a really super nice shot..............the gecko pointing the way adds a lot. I would be very happy to have this in my collection.

Cheers

Great detailed study of the membrane function, which is a nice addition to an otherwise superb shot. Great exposure, wing position and BG.

Can't get any better than this! I thought it was taken with a photo trap, that is not the case? Big congrats!

Thank you.  All my night owl shots were done manually by pre-focus.
