Love this image Shawn, Great perspective and BG. Perhaps just a kiss of fill might have made the bird pop a bit more, but still like it as is :)

Typical morning shot, I've been too lazy to get up for the dance at our local lek. I'm surprised you got some grouse left in Washington; I know they have been trapping Oregon ones to transplant up north because of seriously declining populations.

Love it. Low angle and rosy skyline make this one unique.

Very interesting subject and composition.  But the backlighting is so strong IMO that I'd like the bird lightened a little, to better show the details of the breast and face.

We got a few in Douglas county that are holding on.  The transplants have been put over at Swanson Lakes and I have helped count those and locate them each year.  Going next weekend to count a couple Sharp-tail leks there next weekend.

I took some advise and reprocessed.

Beautiful light, low angle and BG. Repost looks good but needs a CW rotation.

Shawn

I really like many things about this image. The light is great. Your rework is definitely better than the original.......a stand out

Wonderful image, Shawn!
The vegetation looks especially good - prairie grasses are so beautiful, aren't they?!

FWIW, I much prefer the original, as I find that any additional light on the bird kind of kills that pre-dawn mood. And that mood is what this image is all about, isn't it?
