We photographed a Least Grebe at Estero Llano Grande State Park in South Texas during our trip down there a couple of weeks ago.

Canon 7D2 500F4 1/1000 F5.6, iso 800, handheld as low as I could get without getting in the water.

Great shot Nate! When I was down there in 2011, these guys were everywhere and easy to photograph at Estero Llano Grande SP, but when we went down last year, there was not a single least grebe to be found. I was telling the guys how easy they were to photograph there and that they would be slam dunk. Love the shaking water droplets.

Classic Grebe runnin' across the water, the water droplets are a bonus. Nice and sharp for a hand held down low shot.

Nate

Everything is nice with this action shot. Grebes are not the most cooperative birds to shoot also.

Cheers
Graeme
