It looks soft or OOF on my screen. Is it my monitor, or was it a big crop, I don't know.

No. It's not your monitor. The image is soft. Suggestion: Since this is not a fast moving subject, reduce your shutter speed so that your aperture is smaller giving you a sharper image. I would try shooting this at 1/1250 f/8.

Thanks for good comments. Actually the shutter speed was set to catch flying birds through boat. All of a sudden it happened to be in a distant location in a relatively dark place. Without changing the camera setting I had to capture the only shot and there after it also bade me good bye.
