Nice details and look back eye contact from the shoveler KK. I am trying to like the oof birds in the BG, but they just aren't working for me.

Thanks, Tim!
That's okay. I could have cloned out all the oof birds in the bg ... ;-)

Really like the bird itself. Great wing position, light and exposure. I'm also struggeling to like the oof birds in the BG. I think it would work as a nice frame to the bird if you remove the brownish bird above the shovelers head. That would give you a BG with only b&w birds which for me is a more pleasing BG.

Superb flight shot KK, love the wing position and beautiful detail throughout. It works for me with the bg birds - I can't understand the wish to sanitize backgrounds in waterfowl images to make them all 'conform' to the same look!

Your thought matches mine since it's a nature shot and most of all it's not a set-up one. Of course it doesn't mean that one should not aim to achieve a 'clean' bg as much as possible at shoot time. Your comment much appreciated, Carol!

Nice wing position, but I would like to see the wings completely frozen, KK!
