Barn Owl

Workshop: S. Texas

D810, 24mm, ISO 400, f13, 1/200, dual flash @ 1/32pwr, PhotoTrap triggered

At laguna Seca Ranch, we designed Barn Owl nest boxes with photography in mind. A year after installing them we had a pair feeding young while I was there working last week. Greg and I set up our gear each night and came back in the morning to see the images we captured. I will have more detail on the setup in my next newsletter coming out this week.

Super nice, Alan! Amazing what's possible with those sensors in terms of retrieving shadow detail. The clouds in the back make the shot for me.

Fantastic setup shot Alan!! One of your best! The pose and the prey are awesome but the BG really makes this one special. Very nice.
