A great clean shot of this beauty. I would be inclined to crop up above the first knot to rid the image of the "poop spots"

Thanks for your kind words, Missy.  I actually liked the POOP spots!  Thought it made this piece of wood look like an old natural perch (instead of a branch I had picked up off the ground).
I will crop as per your suggestion and see how it looks.  I wanted to avoid having the intersection of the branch right at the edge of the image.

Excellent image. Great pose and perch. This species is locally common, but I struggle to capture images I like. I am with Missy on the poop removal. Consider cloning out the whitewash if you want to keep the lower stem.
