The Bay and the Ship Canal has been fully frozen for some time now.
I was surprised to have found two small areas where there was open water.
Then I realized that there was water because hundreds if not over a thousand Ducks
were keeping it open by their continuous movement.
The background is the ice.

Excellent flight shot with sharp detail, Karl!
Looks like the 5D2 image is far better than 7D2, no?!

Karl, the image of this gorgeous duck is outstanding. I like your little nature story how the ducks work together to keep the water open :) I am thrown off by the small waves and ice that looks like it is on an incline..... Is it me???

Thanks, KK.
The full frame camera has some definite advantages for sure, IQ is one.
The 5D MIII is not the best for BIF shooting as the frame rate slows down after 5-6 frames in RAW.
That's why I switched over to jpeg for this shooting.
