The 600 mm lens is fantastic lens but I wish some time to have at hand some shorter.

The owl was hovering very close above my had and nothing I could do.

C & C are welcome.

Nice work, great closeup detail, composition wise maybe go for of a head and shoulders portrait style comp with a little more space in front of the bird, rather than getting as much of the bird as you can in the frame.

Thanks Chris for your comments. The only reason to crop that way it was to show the feet  and the had in the same frame.
I did crop the way I like it and I hope you will like it.

"hovering very close over my head". Oh man, I wish I had that problem! :) What a fantastic shot. I agree with the updated head+shoulders crop.

I like this shot. Close ups like this do give us a view most of us will never have. The sharpness on the head and the connection of the owl with it's eyes really make this work, and I think the comp works just fine as is.
