Carolina Wren

Spring TX

D810, 85MM. ISO 400, f16, 1/250, multi flash setup, PhotoTrap triggered.

Got this one today using two flashes on the bird at 1/32 pwr, and one flash on my artificial background print. The bird's flight path was predicted using a staging perch and a 1inch wide feeder.

The technics seems to be working great.
Superb flight shot of this handsome bird, Alan.
Love the wing position and detail.

Great shot Alan. I have tried feeding these birds here in southern Ontario with no luck. What do you feed them? if you don't mind me asking.

Hey George, thanks. I had a mix of suet, and seed in the feeder. Not sure exactly whet the wren was taking. I had many species flying to the feeder.

Sweet image, I like how all the secondaries are lined up to the primaries. Great setup work for a outstanding outcome.

Amazing shot. Can't believe the sharpness at 1/250s!

Hi Iain,

The sharpness (and exposure) is not a result of the shutter speed, but the duration of the flash strobes. The 1/250 shutter allows the camera to sync with the flash heads. It is not recording any ambient light at all. Hope that helps.
