A great blue heron lifts off the  uncluttered water backdrop. 
f/13 (for chosen high  DOF)       1/2000       ISO 1000      D800       300 mm f/4 lens with 1.4X converter.

Yes the pose and the background are very good. The bird is also a beautiful specimen.
