Just returned from Costa Rica. Had a great time. While there I tried to make sure I got the correct ID on all the birds I photographed. I have one I am unable to identify. Hope somebody can help me.

This guy was found at Soda Miriam (a little restaurant with a great deck for photography), just up the hill from Savegre going to Cerro de la Muerte. If my memory is correct he was about 7 or 8 inches long. I think the location was about 1,800 meters elevation.

Thanks in advance.

Nice shot. This is a Large-footed Finch. Aptly named I'd say.

Cheers,
Iain

Large-footed Finch it is. Nice shot out in the open! These guys can be real skulkers.
