One of my favourites from a recent trip to Fort Myers Beach, Florida.  Liked how the wind caught hold of the bird's primaries.

Awesome. Love this shot. So pale in their winter wear.
Thanks for looking,

I like this image, sharp where it needs to be and the light earth tone bg abd fg. I'm curious on your tech info, would you consider slowing your shutter speed for say ISO 400 and perhaps 7.1? It all works out, it just seems to me you don't need a fast shutter speed for a relative slow subject. :)

Thanks Darren, I was also surprised to see that I'd shot this at ISO 800 and 1/3200s.  Light was steadily improving that morning (this was shot right at sunrise) so I needed the extra ISO in the minutes prior to shooting this.  That said, these guys are super quick, constantly scurrying about the beach, and I'm glad the shutter speed was up to freeze the primary feathers as they were blown around by the wind.  Probably didn't have to be up at 1/3200 but it all worked out!

Thanks for your comments,

Iain

A very fine shot of this little one, Iain!
The blue band in the bg enhances the image too.

Great shot of plover I have only ever seen twice on the Oregon coast where they are rare.

Wonderful light and low angle. I too love the effect of the wind on this one
