They feed on insects that shelter in Burdock, in doing so, become entangled in the velcro-like, prickly heads leading to a slow death.
Was able to rescue 2 of 3, this guy wasn't so lucky.

The ntural hazards of being a bird, good that you could rescue 2 at least.
