Hi everyone,

I'm looking forward to the next few months, when many different species of raptors will spend the winter in the relatively mild climate of southwestern BC.

Not far from my home are some fantastic locations to photograph Short-eared Owls. In anticipation, I decided to brush off some older Shorty files this morning. I was particularly attracted to the moody feel of this one, provided by a natural vignette and dim, dusk lighting conditions. I'd be interested to hear what you think!

Best of luck out there everyone!

Awesome image Jess. I'd be heading off to the printer with this one :-)
