It is time again to break out the blinds and camo gear for another fall trying to improve on our raptor flight shots. It is finally cooling off enough not to die of heat exhaustion just sitting in a blind!!! Anyway here is a slightly different pose of an adult Cooper's Hawk I worked up from a couple years ago shooting with Alan - I am pretty sure he posted same bird back then taken a split second before this one!!

Fantastic BIF shot of this rare to see bird. The IQ is superb and the pose cannot be any better.

Terrific capture with sharp detail, Michael!
The fanned tail adds to it too.
Care to include some shooting data?

Good point KK - It has been a while since I posted anything so I forgot (old folks) - Nikon D3s, 500mm f/4, 1/2000 sec at f/9, ISO 800, HH, full camo and blind.
Try to repeat this shot wit my new D810 this year

What a killer frame!! Love the pose and the feather details. A little cleanup to the BG and this one is ready for print!

This is sweet. Couldn't ask for a better wing/tail position. Nice work.
Thanks for looking,

Very nice. Awesome stuff with great flared tail and eye contact.
You cannot save time, you can only spend it wisely, or perhaps, freeze a moment of it forever in a photograph

David - thanks for tip not sure how I missed that spot - the one I converted to sRGB also looks little cyan but it is not cyan on my Prophoto RGB TIFF file

Killer image in every way. The pose is just over the top with that fanned tail and the perfect angle on the eye.
