Black-and-white Owl (Costa Rica)

This is among the most common owls in Costa Rica but it is not on every corner!
It is always a good idea to come with the guy who knows where to locate them  :D


Taken last month in Costa Rica while leading a private photography tour.

Great capture of a bird I've never seen (and likely never wil1). Such unusual, dark eyes for an owl! Love the matching beak and talons.

Nice owl, never seen one of this. Very good use of flash for main light.

As an Owls lover it is very interesting for me to see this one.. I have never seen before.

What a great looking Owl not seen too often and I like the dark and the light eyebrows. Very unique.
Nice work on the techs and the feather details, especially the banding on the chest. Well done Juan.

Impressive use of the flash. The bird stands out nicely from the dark background, but does not appear over flashed. Such a cool species.
