This species lives in my neighborhood, strangely it's the only place that I have seen them. So I spent a little time photographing them this summer. They do a lot of hawking of insects on the wing. I captured this one as it came off a telephone wire, it does have a bug in the beak but not easy to see here. I liked this image partially because you can see the red in each of the wingtips.
