This species lives in my neighborhood, strangely it's the only place that I have seen them.  So I spent a little time photographing them this summer.  They do a lot of hawking of insects on the wing.  I captured this one as it came off a telephone wire, it does have a bug in the beak but not easy to see here.  I liked this image partially because you can see the red in each of the wingtips.

Great flight shot and detail. It would have been nice if the back wing was in a better position so that the head (and beak in particular) was outlined by the sky but still a strong image.
