I found this co-operative Green Heron at a local nature center, while I was out looking for subjects to photograph. I watched him for over two hours and he must have caught and ate over 200 little fishy's!

Nice observation and patient work! In terms of photography, certain aspects can be improved in this case:
1. The sunlight is too harsh, it would be better if you can recover the highlight and lighten the shadows. Or just use a flash.
2. The composition doesn't seem to add to the image. Try to use a more central composition by putting the bird in the middle and leaving more foreground on the bottom.
3. Use the max aperture and post processing techniques to soften the background further, because those floating algae are a little distractive.
It doesn't matter who you are, but where you are and when you are.
