A Black Phoebe at Bosque del Apache in the late afternoon as it rested between catching mosquitoes. An early March photo.

Nice head turn and catchlight of some nice warm light. Pleasing image.

Nice image Joe. Nice light, exposure and detail. I am never certain how to compose these over the shoulder poses and would probably have composed with the bird further right.

Thanks, all, for your comments and input!

David,the reason I chose to basically center the eye horizontally, was to leave room in the direction the Phoebe was likely to fly off, while giving the weight of the stare room to the left within the image. This is probably my favorite pose for birds and, you are right, it is a toss-up in choosing how to compose this type of image.
