I find it very hard to shoot this birds.
They have an erratic flight pattern.
They are fast and for some reason none of the cameras I have or have access to, are willing to focus on them most of the time. (5DM, 7D, IDM4)
(Well, I try to blame it on the cameras)
Thanks for looking.

Nice. 1D4 did alright on this one. Do you use just the center focus point or are you using multiple points or assist points? I have found that my Mk. IV and 1Dx do much better at accurate focusing with "cluttered Backgrounds" if I use just the center point. 1Dx does OK with assist points, but still misses more. If you keep the center point on your subject and pump that AF button they will lock on pretty quick.
You cannot save time, you can only spend it wisely, or perhaps, freeze a moment of it forever in a photograph

Thanks, Ron.
I used the central and surrounding points so five points all together.
For slower birds I use single point most of the time.
I also use the pump with my thumb as I do back focusing.
I should try what you suggested.

Well, you nailed it with this one. Nice placement on the frame, too.

Great angle, wing position and BG, and yes, they are pretty fast. :)
