Of all the colourful tanagers that we can find in Costa Rica I got this one!
A very shy and elusive tanager found in our Caribbean lowlands posed for my lens!
I used bananas to lure it and I set up a perch for him. I hope you click on the image to see the full HD file. Thanks  :D

In the many, many months I've spent in Costa Rica I only shot one frame (film) of this species. Amazing shot! Congratulations!!

What an amazing species. I have never seen one before. Love the perch choice here, and congrats for getting him up there. Sweet shot Juan Carlos.
Thanks for looking,

One of my favorite species here. Good job on getting a nice image. The BG, perch, and soft light all work well.

Cheers,
Greg

Juan, wow what a glorious bird and image, that perch is amazing and I really like the rich, rainforest atmosphere depicted here.

Terrific capture, Juan!
Would have been perfect had the tail been totally frozen.

Beautiful image. Nicely exposed in what appears to be some nice soft light. Love the perch. Dave
