What a treat to see and photograph Snowy Owls into late April.  This one was photographed late today and was most cooperative (no baiting these owls).

Photographed with a Canon 40D, Canon 500 f4 II + 1.4x III on Gitzo tripod.  Thanks for looking.

How about a bed or at least a few wildflowers for the owl, to rest on?   One can dream can't they?  :-)   To get more orange in the background I could have tried taking off the 1.4x and going closer.  I was shooting with 2 others and light was quickly fading unfortunately.  But I saw the possibility with the background right away as I walked up there :-)

Snowy owls into late April may not happen again up here for a long time.

Beauty image, nice background to boot, Wilson. I hope for their own sake that they will leave soon.

Lovely setting. Amazing to still be seeing them here in the East- There is one in Vermont still hanging out in a very domestic setting.
