This is one of North Queensland's iconic birds.
Related to the Birds-of-Paradise, the spectacular male bird has an array of unbelievable "dance" movements in an elaborate courtship display.
Unfortunately I missed the courtship dance, but it's still a lovely bird. In the rainforest, the plumage appears jet-black, but it actually has an iridescent quality.
