Wood Duck

This handsome drake Wood Duck broke off from a small flock of other wood ducks to check me out. I was laying prone on the bed of a RR track along the water's edge.

Incredible. I got one decent photo of this species from the CVNP and that was along a popular boardwalk where the birds are used to people (but normally don't allow close approach). To get this stunning shot along what I would assume is a less popularly visited area is amazing!
