I liked the way the eyes have been positioned in the frame drawing attention.... the feel of the blizzard is beautifully captured.

Nice shot. Beautiful creature.
So...the bottom 4th of the image...is the white out intentional? Not working for me.

As good of a bison photo as I have ever seen. His strength and power seems to come right out of his eyes. Visually, the snow storm his head is parting seems no match for him.

The composition, including the "white-out", draw you right in to the eyes of the bison. It does look better viewed against the dark background where the bottom doesn't get lost against the white page. To me this image embodies "perseverance".

White on white doesn't work well, you are right. Thank you Cindy.

I like this image because:

the imposing closeness of the animal.

the big wet nose, the eyes....wow!!

the moving snow

suggestions:

shoot a couple of shutter speeds slower so the snow is really moving.

I would have composed it vertically so to capture just the front quarter and shoulders.

Hope I did not ruffle your feathers. Frankly, if the image did not have POP.....IMPACT, I would not have stopped to comment at all :)

Thank you Elanus :)

This is a shot of a series and I usually (if I have enough time) take different pictures changing shooting parameters and lenses.
In this photo I would like to cut the bison and so I cut legs, back and shoulders otherwise it would not work.
Thank so much for your comment.
