Dholes or the Indian Wild Dog is one of the most fearless hunters in the Indian jungles and even known to be a threat to tigers. Like the African Wild Dog, they too hunt in packs and are capable of bringing down the biggest prey. This one had just finished drinking at a water hole and was resting in the shade of a bamboo thicket and was quite haughty to us, mere mortals. Taken in Tadoba Tiger Reserve, India.

Your picture caused me to look at the relationships of wild dog canids and wolves and domestic dogs (talk about a mess). Nice shot

Nice timing to catch this pose Pralay, its one that canids with erect ears seem to adopt when stretching their shoulders, necks  - and yes, ears!  8)

Can't be bothered by the Paparazzi.
A great pose and image. I have never seen an image of one of these, thanks for sharing.
